Can you wear a building?

In collaboration with Fashion Designer Jane Bowler, [Y/N] Studio proposed a temporary pavilion for the European Capital of Culture 2012, Guimarães, Portugal. The proposal aimed to bridge the gap between the exclusivity of couture fashion and the accessibility of public art/architecture.As visitors ‘dress up’ in the colourful recycled fringing that adorns the monolithic structure, their friends are encouraged to watch through eye holes and take photographs. Walkways formed in modern prefabricated cross structural timber create public promenades/benches/tables during the day and a catwalk/seminar space during the evening.
