Can a tall building respond to both it’s current and future context?

We were asked to consider a site in south London recently re-classified by the local authority as an Opportunity Area, meaning it is intended for redevelopment. Our proposal takes the L-shaped geometry of the existing site and rationalises it into a series of five-sided floor plates which morph to suit the building heights of the current context. In the centre, a 14 storey tower provides 70 dual aspect apartments while ensuring that a coherent streetscape is retained.
